We had a wonderful 4 night stay here recently. The welcome is friendly, the room comfortable and well equipped and the breakfast is delicious with a huge choice of cooked and cold foods.

Belmont is an excellent choice of B&B if you want to be in Hugh Town. It is on the edge of town but only 5-10 minutes walk from the centre and the beaches, and just a bit further to the quay.

Excellent value for money, spotlessly clean, great breakfasts with lots of choice and lovely fresh fruit and a really good location.

A real gem of a B & B, one of the best full English breakfasts I have had in a long time, in a great location, just 5 mins walk from the main area, easy access to the beach and the shops / bars.

It is easy to get to us
You can travel to St Mary’s by ferry (Scillonian III) from Penzance, by plane from Lands End, Newquay or Exeter or by helicopter from Penzance.
If you travel by ferry, ensure your luggage is labelled “Belmont”, then it will be fetched here by a local carrier, leaving you to take the short walk to the house. If you arrive by plane or helicopter then there is a minibus shuttle service which meets every flight and will drop you at our door. There is a charge for these services but there is no need to book in advance.
We are happy to store luggage for early arrivals and late departures so you can make the most of your time on the island. We will also ensure that you have any transport you need arranged for your departure.
Transport on St Mary’s
Taxis
There are a number of taxi services on St Mary’s. We can provide the numbers or call them for you.
Buses
There is a community bus that runs a time tabled service around the main road on the island and tour buses with informative, amusing commentaries.
Bike / cart hire
You can hire bikes or electric carts for some or all of your stay. We will show you where they can be safely stored overnight.
Boats
There are usually boat trips to the other islands at least twice every day (subject to tides and weather).
